Kerry's Worse Mistake

We can all agree or disagree on policies and such. How to fund education, healthcare, social security, and yada, yada, yada. However, some things I see as black and white. There are situations where a clear right and wrong exists. Kerry made a horrible mistake in his youth. Some people would argue that people should not be judged for things they did in their youth. Well, there are some things that just can't be forgotten. If someone becomes a murderer or rapist, should we all forget about it because of the simple passage of time? If your parent is killed by a 23-year old gang member and is never caught until 40 years later. Do we let him go? Of course not.

So when John Kerry lied about our Vietnam Veterans in front of Congress in 1971, when he met with communist leaders in Paris, and when he spoke on the same stage as Jane Fonda he not only contributed to demoralizing and misinforming the American public he prolonged the Vietnam war by two years. For two more years our guys went to Vietnam and fought and died. For 2 more years our POWs were tortured and killed. How many fathers, husbands, brothers, and uncles did not come home? How many would never be there to be a father to their children and a husband to their wives? How many children suffered for how many years for not having a father there to guide their way? And I have yet to mention the hurt and betrayal felt by countless Vietnam veterans on their return to the US.

To honor our Vietnam veterans and their children go and watch this video. It is powerful and I recommend having a tissue nearby. Go and watch it.

If you would like to read the personal stories of Vietnam POWs about how John Kerry's Senate testimony affected their stay in the POW camps, go here.

Kerry's actions as a young man is enough alone to fight him every step of the way. If he becomes commander and Chief, it will be the ultimate disgrace and dishonor to the memories of our fallen veterans. And yes, his actions from his early adult years will prove to be his worse mistake. From the video, the veterans nor their children have forgotten the sins of John Kerry's past.
